As we grow older we get wiser. We learn that things become more precious as we go along and we start to realize that there is a mortality that surrounds us. We come to the conclusion that certain things matter more than others and our priorities change. That is a natural process of coming of age, any age. We also find that things that used to bring us joy have been forgotten as we grew up and that we long for the simplistic ways of days gone by. That is normal. It is also normal to try and recapture the glory days of our youth when we were able to do things longer and with more vigor. Take, for example, the pedal car.
